When we analyse discuss or propose actions for situations or events in life we all tend to think like a chief what should everyone else be doing? . Something must be done and ´´they Should´´…….
Our interaction with the world and how we exist in the world starts and finishes with our individual selves. It is our own reactions and actions in which we possess the tools and personal power to do what we think is the right thing for us. Our own individual Thought, Word and action is our only opportunity to Lead by Example. Who should we lead if not ourselves, who could we know better than ourselves, who is in a position to know our own deepest thoughts , fears,loves and passions if not ourselves.
If we surrender our own reason to the Chiefs who necessarily exist out side of ourselves and are not party to our own inner knowledge or truth are we not surrendering our most precious possession? Our most precious possession is our own Sense of self and self worth, Self respect. With a secure sense of self we can love our selves and love those we care for and exercise respect and civility to others in a manner we would ourselves wish to be treated by ourselves.
It seems so simple and yet when we let the Chiefs dictate our train of thought do we not feel diminished ? Trust ourselves and If you want a chief , be it. For me I am content to be an Indian amongst Indians.
