I offer one thread of Thought on this. I conclude with Bernie Sanders and a possible explanation as to why World wide the Bern is being felt.

Regardless of how rich one gets, one always feels poor in that world. Its an Ego driven thing, to Cameron he feels poor when talking to his Richer masters Say ( well look at the Times 1000 rich list and you get the idea, They all in turn will feel poor when they look at the Forbes Billionaire rich list. In that world the famous words of Paulo Friere ring so very true.

Public Choice theory as described By James Buchanan in the Trap episode 1 by Adam Curtis. Game theory does not recognise any such thing as night or wrong the attitude is how naive we little people are. Right or wrong do not exist. for Buchanan , Cameron and the Zealots of Hayekian/Neo Liberal Dogma. A little or big bit of self interest goes a long way?

James M. Buchanan and Gordon Tullock coauthored The Calculus of Consent: Logical Foundations of Constitutional Democracy (1962), considered one of the landmarks in public choice. In particular, the preface describes the book as “about the political organization” of a free society. But its methodology, conceptual apparatus, and analytics “are derived, essentially, from the discipline that has as its subject the economic organization of such a society” (1962, p. v). The book focuses on positive-economic analysis as to the development of constitutional democracy but in an ethical context of consent. The consent takes the form of a compensation principle like Pareto efficiency for making a policy change and unanimity or at least no opposition as a point of departure for social choice.

Why are people feeling the Bern?
Podemos, Bernie Sanders, Jeremy Corbyn, Diem 25 ( hesitate too say Syrzia? Beppy Grillo, Brexit and so on. A failed political Establishment, A failed Oligarchy, A failed Democracy, A failed Polity. What is the remedy for the failure in our Political Economy. Feel the Bern. Speak out and question everything. Be a movement , be part of something better.
