If you haven’t any coal in the stoveAnd you freeze in the winterAnd you curse on the windAt your fateWhen you haven’t any shoesOn your feetAnd your coat’s thin as paperAnd you look thirty poundsUnderweight. When you go to get a word of adviceFrom the fat little pastorHe will tell you to love evermore. But when hunger comes a rap,Rat-a-tat, rat-a-tat at the window…

Profitless usurer, why dost thou useSo great a sum of sums, yet canst not live? For having traffic with thy self alone,Thou of thy self thy sweet self dost deceive:Then how when nature calls thee to be gone,What acceptable audit canst thou leave?

William Shakespeare, The Sonnets , IV.

Beneath all that obfuscation lie the banks, Alex, to whom we must necessarily owe the money as they alone can create it. The game is that when our government wants money, instead of creating it itself for free instead it grants license to create money to the banks and borrows it from them, at interest, when they create it, interest which we poor fools have to find ourselves from the money already in circulation. In my view the banks should simply have no place in this equation, it’s a centuries old scam that’s only survived this long because so few people understand it. If you want to find stuff in Hansard about the banks and their monopoly on credit-creation (money creation) there’s some links on here The banks normally just laugh at us and have done for centuries. I suspect they may be a little concerned these days though as this is the information age and there’s never been one before, they’ve never had to survive one of these and I think they’re concerned by their current high profile. It’s in all our interests that they don’t make it.

It’s left, its right, in or out is best, leaves the meat of the whole subject unbothered by any serious questioning.

“If the great and powerful had the beneficence and wisdom of Gods, then all this would have been well: if with a greater knowledge of what is good for the people, they had as great a care for their interest as they have themselves, if they were seated above the world, sympathizing with the welfare, but not feeling the passions of men, receiving neither good nor hurt from them, but bestowing their benefits as free gifts on them, they might then rule over them like another Providence. But this is not the case. Coriolanus is unwilling that the senate should show their ‘cares’ for the people, lest their ‘cares’ should be construed into ‘fears’, to the subversion of all due authority; and he is no sooner disappointed in his schemes to deprive the people not only of the cares of the state, but of all power to redress themselves, than Volumnia is made madly to exclaim:

William Hazlitt

Now the red pestilence strike all trades in Rome,
And occupations perish

.””. ”

He rates the people ‘as if he were a God to punish, and not a man of their infirmity.’ He scoffs at one of their tribunes for maintaining their rights and franchises: ‘Mark you his absolute shall?’ not marking his own absolute will to take every thing from them, his impatience of the slightest opposition to his own pretensions being in proportion to their arrogance and absurdity.

Last Night I watched the first half of the Netflix movie Adolf Hitler a career. I was struck by a number of things particularly the Speeches from Hitler laying out that he eliminated all of thew political Parties his intentions by the films narrative were shown to have been spelt out quite clearly. His was a sort of Delegated Dictatorship of all the people not merely the proletariat, ‘as if he were a God to punish, and not a man of their infirmity.’ is how Hazlit describes Corealanus he could quite easily have been describing Hitler.

For the First part of this melange Money Money Money from Cabaret, again Hitlers visceral hatred of the Louche cabaret society of Berlin in the 1920’s provides uncomfortable parallels of where we might be headed in this current incarnation of Mamon?

CALVIN SAID Belloc characterised the Reformation as

´´a rising of the rich against the poor´´,

´and indeed Calvin had written the unfortunate statement:

´´The people must always be kept in poverty in order that they remain obedient´´.

In Part 1,

I contend (using Coriolanus as my mouthpiece) that Keeley and Clarke have failed to show that there is anything intellectually suspect about conspiracy theories per se. Conspiracy theorists need not commit the ‘fundamental attribution error’ there is no reason to suppose that all or most conspiracy theories constitute the cores of degenerating research programs, nor does situationism – a dubious doctrine in itself – lend any support to a systematic skepticism about conspiracy theories. In Part 2. I argue (in propria persona) that the idea that there is something suspect about conspiracy theories is one of the most dangerous and idiotic superstitions to disgrace our political culture.
