In an echo of Ernest Hemingway’s famous exchange in The Sun Also Rises – “How did you go bankrupt?” “Two ways. Gradually, then suddenly” – Mackintosh concludes, in respect of global heating, that “change happens slowly and then fast”. The evidence is all around us.

Who is paying the higher cost of energy ? Africa and in particular sub-Sahara Africa needs massive upgrade of its energy infrastructure. It’s hydel-power potential is barely used. But the global activists won’t allow funding for dams – the dams which can create massive irrigation potential and clean cheap hydro power.
International finance won’t aid dams / won’t aid coal fired power plants but give loan only for solar and wind mills. These are expensive and need massive subsidies. The power is barely affordable by the poor who need it the most.
Boy Scout NGOs come out with pea brained solutions of using hole in the roof water bottles with sodium chemicals to generate poor quality lights.

These solar resources don’t have storage facility, wind mills can’t be put everywhere.
The environmental and bio-sphere damage caused by solar farms and wind mills is barely spoken about.
Activist driven hysteria is forcing a unidirectional thinking and putting energy poor countries at risk – a new imperialism or apartheid in name of Climate Change / Environment after the rich Europe has reaped benefit from exploiting the natural resources, it wants to deny the same benefits to rest of the world .
