The Coronation is an important event , the Political aspects of crowning a new King in our Constitutional Monarchy means that the Question of Oathes is very important.
The Important Ones are from the Aristocracy(The Barons) to the King and From the King to God and to the people. God Save the King and Long Live the King are our rightful and respectful comment on the Significance of the Sacred Event. The Oath as proposed is a dilution of the solemn and sacred promise of the King to the people to Keep the Barons in check and uphold the Common Law. I personally am not a Republican or indeed an Atheist, I am though A “Subject” in this realm and “I Know my place”!

Our Nation is an Island
No Man is an island to be sure
Our Nation is an Island of customs and Law
A Britons home is their castle
the bill of rights protects us from rascals
Arses in this rump of a parliament, procrastinate
humbug, surrender acts and capitulations bloviate
So forsaking the peoples by attempting treasons
force us to become a nation for all seasons (once Moore).
Governments are instituted among men and women
deriving their powers from the consent of the governed
whenever any form of government becomes destructive
to those ends, we learn from a certain declaration of independence.
“Nature rejects the monarch, not the man; The subject, not the citizen; for
kings And subjects, mutual foes, forever play A losing game into each other’s
hands, Whose stakes are vice and misery. Borrow wise words and deads from
History, repeating past follies with oaths of vanity against advice of Mothers
Guards, garbed in blood-red livery, surround Their palaces, participate the
crimes That force defends and from a nation’s rage Secures the crown, which
all the curses reach That famine, frenzy, woe and penury breathe. These are
the hired bravos who defend The tyrant’s throne -the bullies of his fear;
These are the sinks and channels of worst vice, The refuse of society, the
dregs Of all that is most vile” “I swear that I will pay true allegiance to Your
Majesty, and to your heirs and successors according to law. So help me God”
What imposition is this? an invitation treasonous against the Constitution,
Seek such from the Barons of the oligarchy, seek it from the remembrancer
and remember Their Oaths and enforce them as your predecessors have
Sworn so to do! It is our right, as the peoples of Britain to alter, To abolish
and to institute a new Government. the first Elizabeth Video et Taceo .

A somewhat intemperate thread dealing with the Manners of the Oath.
Followed by a more Constitutional Approach which boils down to A Roman Law view over a Common Law View regarding the British Constitutional settlement.
An Oath from the People to the King turns on its head the vector of power from the Governed to the Governors. In the Class Sketch
2/2 , the Monarch makes an oath to the people and God. Its supposed to keep the robber barons in check https://t.co/UuftXkkMw5

Contrasting the The Frost Report on 7 April 1966 sketch to the Millennium updating in 2000 I invite readers to consider The World of 1952 and the Coronation then of the Late Queen and the forthcoming coronation of King Charles iii .
Charles I (19 November 1600 – 30 January 1649)[a] was King of England, Scotland, and Ireland from 27 March 1625 until his execution in 1649
Charles II (29 May 1630 – 6 February 1685)[c] was King of Scotland from 1649 until 1651, and King of England, Scotland and Ireland from the 1660 Restoration of the monarchy until his death in 1685.
James II (14 October 1633 O.S. – 16 September 1701)[a] was King of England and King of Ireland, and King of Scotland as James VII[4] from the death of his elder brother, Charles II, on 6 February 1685. He was deposed in the Glorious Revolution of 1688. He was the last Catholic monarch of England, Scotland and Ireland. His reign is now remembered primarily for conflicts over religious tolerance, but it also involved struggles over the principles of absolutism and the divine right of kings. His deposition ended a century of political and civil strife in England by confirming the primacy of the English Parliament over the Crown.[5]
A more constitutional Approach from Ian Davis in response to @PoliticsUk Our Story really begins with Henry the 8th and the break from the Roman Church and Roman Law, with a brief return to a Catholic Monarch James 11,
That raises the excellent discussion that you had with Robin about the rule of Law, Roman Law and the distinction betwixt our Common Law system and the Inquisitorial Continental systems. David Starkey was mentioned in one of the segments of your Tillbrook interview and this interview with him is very good I think.
Calling the Henry VIII’s break with Rome the “other Brexit”, Starkey compare and contrasts Theresa May’s negotiations with the EU and Henry VIII’s negotiations with the Pope. His verdict is not one the P.M. would wish to hear. Moving on to English identity, we learn why the Tudors dominate England’s cultural landscape — particularly Henry VIII and Elizabeth I — and why the British Empire is unique in having transformed its colonies/dominions into self-governing, sovereign nations.
WTF would anyone do this? Obedience is not a virtue. His oath is a contract by which we allow him to be head if state. He serves us by upholding and defending our rights and customs, which means rule by common law defined by juries, not judges and not politicians. https://t.co/JfUrURftIS

There are clearly arguments on the "republican" side I am not a republican or an atheist, I am cautiously agnostic on Monarchy as with other systems of "Governance" This Oath is a very bad idea and is unconstitutional, here's my take. https://t.co/0wXWEcmcda
